Heart of Addiction (HOA) was born out of the darkness Bobby and Ronette had found themselves in during the struggle of addiction. They reached out into the world for answers and found none. When turning to God’s word, they found truth and freedom. The Word of God speaks directly to addiction, in any form, and empowers the Christian to no longer be a slave to a substance/activity. God’s word transforms the struggling addict into an overcomer.
The focus is not on the substance/behavior but on the “heart” issue that is the driving force behind the addiction. By focusing on the heart and digging deep into the roots of bondage, transformation begins and then sobriety is a byproduct of that transformation. By looking at the heart issues, from the perspective of the Word of God, we can uncover and overcome all of life’s struggles. Hurt, trauma, abuse, brokenness, rejection, depression, shame, guilt, un-forgiveness towards others, yourself and God, bitterness and many others. We use God’s Word to guide our path out of these bondages into total and complete healing.
FREEDOM. We teach that through the work of the cross we were “made free” before we were bound. The freedom is ours for the taking once we align ourselves with our identity in Jesus Christ. Many struggling with these heart issues don’t become substance abusers, but still find themselves in bondage just the same! Heart of Addiction is a safe place to walk thru any life struggles one may find themselves in. One major component is to renew the mind, to transform the old thought pattern to line up with the identity found in Christ. As a new creation in Christ, all things are passed away, old things become new.
“Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of our minds…” Romans 12:2
